Hi I’m Larelle Hewett, owner of Innovation Cleaning.
I attribute a lot of the extra work we receive on Bartercard to my teenage boys! Their appetite has gained me quite a few contracts in Bartercard. We’ll eat out or order take away from a Bartercard restaurant then I’ll get chatting to the owner and we’ll negotiate a contract to commercially clean their kitchen!
When I joined Bartercard I had 2 staff I now have 5 due to the demand for our commercial cleaning services through the network. I network myself to new people and it branches me out. Though Bartercard, I now have larger clients with greater needs.
Bartercard is a really effective networking tool for my business. Not only do I attend the network functions that Bartercard puts on, but also, whenever we do a job on Bartercard we drop business cards off to all the surrounding businesses. The more people you meet the more you’re on people’s minds.
We’ve set our two permanent staff up with staff cards and whenever they do a Bartercard job, they take Trade Dollars as payment. We also offer Christmas bonuses in Trade Dollars. Our Christmas party was held in Bartercard restaurant, which I’m now negotiating with the owner to commercially clean his 5 restaurants!
We spend our Trade Dollars on galvanised fencing, laptops for my sons, book keeping and accounting, tyres for my work vehicles, and car signage. We’ve also paid for pest control, window cleaning, and legal advice for staff and contractor contracts, website design and hosting. I find Bartercard members are always willing to help as they realise we are all in business to get ahead and make a living. We learnt so much from other members. I live Bartercard!
Sometimes, I pay some of my cash suppliers in Bartercard Trade Dollars! My mechanics apprentice will drive my car home after a service if I give him a Bartercard Multi Trade Voucher to spend at a bar. He loves Bartercard! Also, my babysitter willingly takes multi trade vouchers to spend at restaurants, bars, or beauty salons. It’s the little things like this that I’m able to do on Bartercard that free up my time and allow me to work on growing my business.
