The opportunity Bartercard presented in increased sales and brand awareness was too enticing to pass up.  As members of Bartercard for over 6 years we’ve achieved this again and again.

Bartercard is an exciting way of trading; the first trade show we attended in Sydney we took a pallet of puddings, which we sold in less than 2 hours! It was such an upper, an amazing sales thrill.

Whenever we do something in business, we always ask ourselves, can we do this on Bartercard?  For example, at a recently industry trade show in the UK we wanted to create more brand awareness through printing our logo on plastic giveaway bags.  Instead of purchasing the bags and getting them printing in Australia, we contacted the local Bartercard office in London and they organised for a local printer to print our bags and deliver them to the show.  If we didn’t use this practice of ‘stop and think Bartercard’, I don’t think we would have even considered purchasing from a supplier in England and would probably have had to ship bags we’d purchased for cash in Australia all the way to the England! We are always finding new ways to spend our Trade Dollars. I’m always excited when we’ve buy things on Bartercard as I know how it’s saved our businesses cash-flow.

We like to reward our staff and using Bartercard is an effective way to do this. Our staff love Bartercard as they do very well out of it!  Christmas consists of over a $1000.00 worth of gifts, the majority of which we’re able to source on Bartercard.  Things like flowers, wine, and hampers. We’ve given them vouchers for weekends away, vouchers to day spa’s etc, one year we surprised them and took them all to Fiji for a week!  They still talk fondly about this trip.

Bartercard has enabled us to build the business skills of our staff, which has far exceeded our expectations of its capabilities within our business.  For example we were able to send all our staff through a 1st aid course paid for on Bartercard.

Bartercard has taught us how to sell to different people and sell in a different way.  It’s business to business therefore you are constantly talking to and dealing with other business owners, not their staff.

What you do get through Bartercard is consistent sales, which helps you weather the various economic conditions in the market place. We engaged all our distributors to join Bartercard. This was a strategic move to assist our customers by opening up more avenues for them to purchase our product.
