When I joined Bartercard, there was definitely no doubt to how much value it was adding to my sales. The only possible problem I encountered was what to actually do with my trade dollars once I’d made them. The vast majority of expenses my business encounters are handled through overseas vendors, so this didn’t work with the trading network.
A lot of people use their trade dollars for personal and lifestyle expenses, and while I did enjoy a holiday, I decided that this wasn’t the path I wanted to take. Trade dollars are still real money. They’re not to be squandered.
When I got a phone call from Bartercard’s Real Estate division, I thought ‘here’s an opportunity I can get on board with’. I did my due diligence and put in a lot of research, but I ended up coming to the conclusion that using my trade dollars to invest in real estate would be very lucrative, and it has been.
It’s been a very positive experience, and I will do it again.
